At Barmy Badger Backpackers, we aim to create a safe, welcoming, and social environment for all our guests in our hostel in Earl's Court. With fellow backpackers, international travellers, and London newcomers in mind, we ask everyone to keep noise down in the dorms and respect one another. Our easy house rules are:
We're set in the West End, near Earl's Court Underground, for a truly central London experience and comfortable stay.
Check-in is from 13:30. Check-out is by 10:00. You’ll need to present government-issued photo ID (passport, driving licence, or national ID card) upon arrival. Check-out is strictly by 10:00. Travelling later in the day? You’re welcome to use our communal areas and leave your bags with us for free until you head off. Please remember, a late check-out may incur a charge for another night at the current rate.
Yes, you can leave your luggage with us before check-in and after check-out free of charge while you explore London.
Yes, just let us know if you’ll arrive after Reception closes and we’ll provide instructions for late check-in.
Lockers are available, but please bring your own padlock or purchase one at Reception for £10 (cash only).
Free Breakfast is between 07:00 and 09:30 – help yourself to cereal, toast, fruit, tea, coffee, etc, in the communal kitchen. Guests can use the kitchen for cooking.
Our minimum age is 18. The maximum stay at Barmy Badger Backpackers is 7 days. We do not allow under-18s.
To cancel your reservation at our West End London hostel, we require at least 48 hours’ notice before 10am GMT on your day of arrival. If you miss this deadline, you’ll be charged for your first night. No-shows will be charged for the whole booking.
Yes, guests must be at least 18 years old. If a booking is made that includes children, it will be cancelled, and our cancellation and no show policies will apply. There’s no maximum age, but please note our hostel is not suitable for those with limited mobility as all rooms are accessed by stairs.
We are unable to reserve lower bunks or lower level rooms. Please note that we are unsuitable for people with mobility issues
All our rooms are only accessible by stairs.
Towels are provided in our double en-suite and double rooms with showers. If you’re in a dorm or other room type, please bring your own towel. If you need one, we rent towels for £2 (cash only), with £1 going to charity.
Bring your own padlock, just like you would at a gym, or purchase one from Reception for £10 (cash only).
We don’t rent them, but you can buy one for £10 (cash only) if you forget yours. Every bed is equipped with fast-charge USB A and C ports for your convenience.
No curfew! Our West End London hostel is always accessible, so you can come and go at any time.
Guests can stay up to 7 days at Barmy Badger Backpackers and we do not offer long term stays for people with no fixed abode or London hostel hoppers.
Yes, it is illegal to smoke inside public buildings in the UK, but we do have outside smoking areas. We also have a strict No Vaping policy inside the hostel.
